In 2019, Vestdavit successfully delivered two enhanced PLR-5000 davit systems for HMS Tyne, marking the final delivery in a series of 18 davits supplied for the Royal Navy’s River-Class offshore patrol vessels. These high-performance davits were engineered to meet the rigorous demands of continuous naval operations, reflecting Vestdavit’s focus on safety, durability, and efficiency. The PLR-5000 units are specially designed for heavy-duty use in challenging marine environments, featuring robust construction, precise handling, and user-friendly operation, ensuring they meet the Royal Navy’s high standards for operational readiness and reliability.
The PLR-5000 systems, paired with Pacific 24 fast-rescue boats, are at the heart of the vessels’ boarding operations, enabling the safe and efficient deployment and recovery of boarding teams. Capable of supporting up to four launches per day, 300 days a year, these davits ensure consistent performance and mission success. Their dependable operation significantly enhances the vessels’ versatility in maritime security roles, such as anti-smuggling, fisheries protection, and search and rescue.
