About Us
Founded in 1982 in Bergen, Norway, on the shores of the North Sea, Vestdavit derives its name from the region where it was established, Vestlandet, and the davit systems for which it has become globally renowned. While the company’s headquarters remain in Bergen, where it designs and supports cutting edge boat launch and recovery systems, Vestdavit has significantly expanded its global footprint in recent years. In 2018, Vestdavit strengthened its presence in North America with the establishment of Vestdavit Inc. in Seattle, United States. This expansion allowed the company to provide localized support and expertise to clients across the region.
Further growth followed in early 2020 with the acquisition of Vestdavit Production in Poland, a move that doubled the company’s size and, for the first time in its history, gave Vestdavit full control over its supply chain, from design to delivery. Building on this momentum, Vestdavit continued its expansion in 2021 with the launch of Vestdavit BV in the Netherlands, further solidifying its presence in North-West Europe. This strategic move has enhanced operational capabilities and reinforced Vestdavit’s commitment to providing industry leading davit solutions to clients worldwide.
In September 2025, Vestdavit was completely acquired and now owed by Home | Fairbanks Morse Defense
