Single Point Davits

A single point davit is a compact and efficient launch and recovery system designed to handle small boats, life rafts, and other maritime equipment using a single lifting point. These davits are widely used in the naval, offshore, commercial, search and rescue industries, offering reliable and safe deployment solutions even in challenging conditions.

Single point davits are a crucial component in the maritime industry, providing a fast, reliable, and safe solution for launching and recovering boats and life rafts. PLAR Davit

L Davit

The PLAR Series is a single point aluminum davit that delivers weight savings of 30 % over an equivalent steel system, thereby reducing upper deck weight on the platform. The system is highly customizable.

Recent insights highlight that the longstanding preference for aluminium davits among navies, coast guards, and fast ferry operators is now extending into new markets, driven by the material’s weight advantages over traditional steel. Aluminium davits are increasingly appealing to a broader range of vessel owners as a structural alternative, offering benefits that support faster, more agile craft. The lighter aluminium structure has been selected by operators of fast patrol boats, such as the Royal Australian Navy’s Cape Class vessels, the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Danish Navy, the Swedish Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and more. Recently, security-focused authorities in the Middle East and South Asia have also turned to aluminium davits for fast-response applications within the 850–7,000 kg safe working load range provided by Vestdavit.
