In 2020, Vestdavit secured a prestigious contract to deliver fast-rescue-boat davit systems for six Patrouilleurs d’Outre-Mer (POM) vessels being constructed by Socarenam in Saint Malo. These next-generation offshore patrol vessels will play a critical role in maintaining maritime security, sovereignty, and surveillance across France’s expansive overseas territories, including New Caledonia, Réunion Island, and French Polynesia. Operating in such vast and strategically important maritime zones demands dependable, high-performance equipment that enhances operational readiness and extends the vessels’ capabilities far beyond their core platforms.
At the heart of these vessels’ operational edge is the Vestdavit PLD-5000 davit system, designed to launch and recover fast-rescue boats with precision and speed, even in rough sea conditions. The system’s robust construction and advanced features ensure rapid deployment for missions such as boarding and inspection, interdiction of suspicious vessels, and search-and-rescue operations. By enabling quick and safe boat handling, the PLD-5000 serves as a force multiplier – enhancing agility, response time, and crew safety. This makes the davit system an integral part of the POM vessels’ mission to safeguard French maritime interests across remote and dynamic operating environments.
